Ex-nigerian footballer and his foreign wife arrested for fraud.

A nigerian former football star, who is a former State-level football player, and his Indian wife were arrested on Monday in India for duping people on the pretext of custom clearance for gifts sent by them, the police said on Wednesday, Times of India reports.

They have duped a social worker, the police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said that the accused, identified as Ifeanyi Joachin Nwafor, who has played for three State-level teams in Chennai and Kerala, and his wife were arrested from Dabri on Monday.

The police said that the social worker, who runs an NGO, approached them and said that one George Moor, a UK-based man, had requested her to accept gifts for the poor in India.

She said she then got a call from a woman, who claimed that she was from the Customs Department and that the complainant would have to pay money to receive the gifts. The victim paid over ₹1 lakh on two occasions. She, however, got suspicious after more money was demanded.

After she approached the police, an investigation was taken up and bank account details were sought. The CCTV footage of the ATMs from where the deposited money was withdrawn were also scanned, after which the accused were arrested.

“During interrogation, it was found that Nwafor is from Nigeria. In 2009, he had come to India on a business visa. In 2012, he came in contact with the woman [his co-accused] through Facebook, who is from Assam. They later started living together in Delhi and eventually got married,” Mr. Alphonse said.

The police said that Nwafor made several fake Facebook accounts approach people through the social media. After taking them into confidence, he used to tell them about sending precious gifts for them. His wife used to pose as Customs officer and call them, they said.

The police claimed to have recovered over ₹6 lakh that they had collected by from different people by cheating them.

Mobile phones, jewellery, laptops among other articles have also been seized, the police further said.

BREAKING NEWS;waec!!ademola adeleke scored f9 in english, missed rest of the exams.
WAEC confirms Adeleke sat for 1981 exams, scored F9 in English

Ade Adesomoju, Abuja

The West African Examinations Council has confirmed before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Bwari, Abuja that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the governorship election scheduled to hold on Saturday in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, sat for its examination in 1981.

WAEC stated this in a court filing which it made in compliance with an order issued by Justice Othman Musa on September 11.

In the results attached to the documents filed by WAEC, Adeleke was listed as number 149 out of the 221 candidates that sat for the May/June 1981 examinations of the Council at Ede Muslim High School in Ede, Osun State.

The results showed that he sat for only English Language in which he had F9.

He did not sit for other registered subjects which included Mathematics, Literature in English, Islamic Knowledge and Geography.

He also did not sit for Economics and Biology.

Justice had directed WAEC to produce Adeleke’s results in a ruling on an ex parte application by two plaintiffs, Mr. Wahab Raheem and Mr. Adam Habeeb.

Justice Musa had in the ruling specifically ordered the examination body to produce in court the ledger containing results of Ademola and his mates with whom he sat for the examinations.

He also ordered WAEC to swear to an affidavit either denying or confirming that Adeleke, an incumbent senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the Senate, sat for the Council’s May/June 1981 examinations conducted by the Council at Ede Muslim High School in Ede, Osun State.

The court ordered that WAEC should file the ledger and the verifying affidavits within five days of being served with the enrolled order.

The court also ordered both the Peoples Democratic Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission to show cause within five days from the day of service of the originating summons” why they should not be stopped from recognising Adeleke’s candidacy.

Adeleke who is the candidate of the PDP in the governorship poll has been accused of forging his WAEC certificate.

But the Senator has since denied the allegation which he said was a lie being peddled by his political detractors.

However, in an affidavit deposed to by the Deputy Registrar/Head of School Examination Department, WAEC, Henry Sunday Adewunmi Osindeinde, and filed in response to the court’s September 11 ruling, the examination body confirmed that Adeleke sat for the May/June 1981 at Ede Muslim High School, Yidi Road, Ede.

Osideinde stated that the examination centre number was 19645 while Adeleke’s number as a candidate in the centre was 149.

WAEC attached a copy of the results of all 221 candidates that sat for the May/June 1981 in the centre at Ede Muslim High School.

Osindeinde said in the affidavit that: “By virtue of my position as Deputy Registrar/Head of School Examination Department, I have read the enrolled order of this court (specifically orders iv, v and vi) dated 11th September 2018 directing and compelling the WAEC to depose to an affidavit confirming or denying the said orders contained in the said enrolled order and referred to in this paragraph And I wish to state as follows:

“The said candidate named in this suit known as Adeleke Ademola, with Centre Number 19645 and Candidate Number 149, indeed sat for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in May/June 1981 conducted by the council at Ede Muslim High School situate at P. O. Box 6 Yidi Road, Ede, State of Osun.

“The copy of the result listing referred to by the court order as the ledger containing the results of all the candidates (001 – 221) who sat for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in the said school is hereby certified, attached and marked: Exhibit WA1.”

Adeleke is yet to respond to the accusations.

The plaintiffs’ had contended in the suit that Adeleke’s claim that he sat for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in May/June 1981 could not be true because Secondary School Certificate Examination had not been introduced then.

They argued that what was in existence then was the West African School Certificate Examination.

Justice Musa had fixed Wednesday for hearing in the case, but the court did not sit as the judge was said to be away on an official assignment.

The plaintiffs’ lawyer, Bankole Komolafe and the counsel for Adeleke, Nathaniel Oke, SAN, mutually agreed with court officials that the matter be adjourned tilll sept. 25tg.

Senate president exposes the real people ruling nigeria.

Latest updating trending now disclose how the senate president and presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bukola Saraki, yesterday regretted the happenings in Aso rock, the seat of power in Nigeria since 2015 with a verdict that cabal and not President Muhammadu Buhari was in charge of the most populous black country in the world.

He recalled that Nigerians voted the President with the hope that Buhari would effect positive change in the country, but lamented that the people have been shortchanged by the cabal who continue to hold sway in power.
Saraki who was accompanied by Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, Senator Abiodun Olujinmi, Captain Idris Wada, Dr. Doyin Okupe and Muhammed Wakil, made the remarks while addressing PDP delegates in Oyo State during a meeting where he solicited for their votes ahead of the October presidential primary of the major opposition party in the country.

He said the few influential world presidents who had visited Nigeria under the present administration did not stay beyond a few hours because they were convinced that their host did not understand their mission or contributed to discussion as expected.

He also said that Nigeria lacked the progress it deserved because voting patterns were determined by religion, language and ethnicity instead of capacity and merit.
Saraki said, “Over the years, we have made mistakes in electing people based on sentiment. Yes, it is time we correct it. We will correct it because we are capable. Over the years, we have voted for people based on religion, the language they speak and where they came from in Nigeria. We need people who have the courage, capacity, ability and determination.
“I have shown over the years, particularly in the recent years that one has the opportunity of leadership, that I have the capacity to take Nigeria forward. The countries that have done well did so not by bringing leaders by chance but because they looked for capable leaders. It is time to pick such leader.
“The president we have now does not understand leadership. We have endured him for more than three years but it is the same thing. Nigerians voted for him (Buhari) but cabal is ruling the country. That is not what democracy means. This time, let us look for who can do it. In Nigeria today, we do not have unity. What we need in the present world is digital president.
“When your president sits with world presidents, he should be able to understand what they are saying. That is why presidents who have visited the country did not stay more than a few hours. But when they know that their host understands them, they will stay longer and explore investment opportunities in Nigeria.”
Saraki said he considered Oyo State his home because his paternal grandmother was from Iseyin area of the state. He added that the state’s priorities would be protected if he became the president.
“I am happy to be back at home. This is my home, this is my state. By the boundaries that we share between Oyo and Kwara States, compared to other aspirants, it is just a stone throw to travel from Oyo to Kwara State, and they will know that their next president is just next door.
On my father side, my grandmother came from Iseyin here in Oyo State; the same town where the PDP chairman in Oyo State comes from, so I know that I have captured a delegate with me. I am sure that many aspirants have come but now that your own has come home, there is nothing wrong in telling them your son has come so that Oyo can have someone that will protect its priority,” he said.

Medical Tests Couples Must Do Before They Get Married

I have heard people say that all that matters is love, love conquers all, as long as they are happy nothing else matters. These are the wrongest of notions. Love tries but does not conquer all. I was speaking with a sister and a friend a few days ago and it struck me that the elites are still ignorant of these pre-wedding tests. I believe this article will help us a great deal. I actually feel the religious houses and the court should make them a pre-requisite to wedding. Don’t be blinded by love.

For most people, the joy of finding true love and deciding to go into matrimony with a spouse usually knows no bound. However, most people enter into this lifelong union without adequate knowledge of their partner’s health status and so become disappointed and frustrated with marriage because of medical conditions that could have been identified and tackled before this lifelong commitment. The knowledge of your intending partner’s health status by no means implies that marriage is not possible but it gives you an avenue to make informed consent and it enables you and your spouse seek proper medical care early to prevent unnecessary stress and burden during marriage.

Here Are Tests Needed To Be Done Before Wedding

1) The Genotype Test

This is probably one of the must do in the the test groups. This is the test that lets you know whether you are AA, AS, SS, AC or SC. I actually feel this test should be done from the very beginning of the relationship. I am AA but because of the importance I give to this test, I always ask the question of the genotype from the first or second date. Most people find it weird but I have experienced a lot to know It is quite important. There was a particular sunday in Church that we were discussing this issue and people cited a lot of reasons while It does not matter. I want to address this issue as I did in church. Before I do this I will Like to explain the test.

The Genotype test helps in determining whether one has the sickle cell gene. Sickle cell disease is a chronic and debilitating medical condition caused by defect in red blood cells. As the name implies, these cells are shaped as a ‘sickle’ and this affect their ability to pass through tiny blood vessels to supply oxygen to cells and tissue. This account for most crises experienced by sickle cell patients. It is advisable for sickle cell patients (SS) not to marry a carrier of the sickle cell gene (AS) because of the 50% chance of having a baby with the disease in each pregnancy. However, a sickle cell patient (SS) can marry an individual with no trait of the disease (AA) as their offspring will only be carriers of the sickle cell genes. AS and AS individuals should also not get married because of the 25% chance of having a baby with it.

So back to what I was saying. I told them It is the height of selfishness for two people with the gene to get married. But in the case that they both have agreed not to have a child or they have agreed to adoption them they are fine.

2) The Blood Group And Rhesus Factor Test

This is also a basic test that should be done. It is basically for information purposes and it does not determine whether two people can marry. The rhesus factor test used to be a determinant though but with the advancement of science there is nothing to worry about.  Knowledge of your spouse blood group is important before marriage because of rhesus isoimmunization/ blood group incompatibility that affects the fetus. This test is easy to perform and result is usually ready within 30 minutes.

Blood group is assigned to an individual as A, B, O and AB with another component known as the Rhesus factor which is referred to as positive or negative. Women with rhesus negative blood group married to rhesus positive husbands have a greater chance of rhesus incompatibility where the mother produces antibodies (body defence system) to target the red blood cells of the growing fetus (rhesus positive fetus) leading to intrauterine death and miscarriages. Knowledge of your spouse blood group will alert your doctor to institute preventive measures which are used to prevent rhesus incompatibility reactions during pregnancy.

3) The HIV Test

This is one test I believe most couple do and it is basically because of the fear of dying. It is a very important test. With the current prevalence of HIV, it is important that spouses should request for their partners to be screened for this diseases= before marriage. HIV is a lifelong condition that if not properly managed can put serious strain on the marriage. The knowledge of your partner status helps you protect yourself/ seek for adequate medical care if your partner turns out to be positive and you also decide to go ahead with the marriage. Lifelong care and support is needed for partners who are infected. I know various bodies that perform wedding rites demand for it nowadays. It is not for stigmatization purposes but to help your partner to adequately manage it and prevent transmission to you. There are various test centers around you, just go for counselling and then get tested.

4) The Hepatitis Test And Other STDs

This is also a very important test. Hepatitis is probably the STD with the smallest sensitization. I was still speaking with a friend last week and he told me he never knew there is an STD called Hepatitis. I had a first hand experience with a victim years ago and that was my first insight. It is a deadly STD and it is more contagious than HIV. It can also be transmitted just like the HIV. This is also a test that should be done before an sexual relations begin between couples. A general screening for STDs should be done.Other STDs such as gonorrhea, syphilis, warts, etc should be screened for because they can lead to fertility problems and miscarriage. There is no shame in doing all these tests.

5) The Fertility Tests

This is also a very serious one especially in the generation of nowadays. Infertility is rampaging the society and we live in a world that an ultimate importance has been placed on having children of your own. This may sound out of place or weird, but truth be told, fertility test is another test that all intending coupes should do before saying ‘I DO’. This is important because fertility issues can be addressed as early as possible without the unnecessary biological, psychological, social and emotional trauma associated with barrenness. Fertility test typically includes: seminal analysis for the men to assess for male fertility; hormonal assay for both couples e.g. FSH, LH, Prolactin, Testosterone, estrogen and progesterone; test for ovulation for the women, pelvic ultrasound scan may also be needed to assess the internal reproductive organs for any congenital or acquired abnormalities.

Men needs more sensitization on this subject. Time has changed from the past. There has been a shift in our diet and I think it has taken a toll on our fertility levels. It is important we know our reproductive status so that we can plan adequately. Science has advanced and there now is increased success in the area of assisted conception. It shouldn’t be a big deal again.

6) Full Medical Body Tests

Marriage is a lifelong commitment with both partners looking after each another. Knowledge of possible genetic or chronic conditions of your partner wouldn’t be harmful but it will go a long way in assisting both couples on how to best prepare for the challenges ahead. Early testing allows couples seek medical care before the medical conditions gets to its terminal stage. This test depends on the region and the common chronic/genetic condition seen in that populace. However, this test should include screening for diabetes, test for hypertension, certain cancers, kidney disease and various brain conditions.

It is important we carry out the various examinations. With this you both will understand what you are going into and would have agreed to take the walk together. Only then can you enjoy a lasting peace. Get Tested!!

Stay Healthy!!!

Worst police force in the world.

Nigeria, DR Congo, Kenya and Uganda have the world’s worst police force.

REUTERS/AFOLA

The already-sullied reputation of some of Africa’s largest police forces is in for more beating.
Of 127 countries measured in the 2016 world internal security and police index, Nigeria’s police force ranks as the worst, just below DR Congo, Kenya and Uganda to make up the bottom four.
The index, a collaboration between the International Police Science Association and the Institute for Economics and Peace, focuses on how much resources each nation devotes to internal security, whether the resources are used in an effective manner and whether the public view the police favorably. The index also assesses the current threats to internal security in each country.
Across all regions, North America and Europe show the highest level of police responsiveness to internal security issues while sub-Saharan Africa averaged the most internal security issues as security providers in the region are “under-resourced and stretched by terrorist organizations and insurgencies.” Nigeria’s scores ranked in the bottom 10 countries for all indicators measured.
Nigeria has only 219 police officers for every 100,000 citizens—below the index median of 300 and the sub-Saharan Africa average of 268, according to the report. Private security doesn’t fill much of that gap either with only 71 personnel per 100,000 Nigerians—one of the five lowest rates globally. That thin workforce has been stretched even more by the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast, rampaging herdsmen in the middle belt region and the rampant kidnapping in Nigeria’s south.
Kenya and the Democratic Republic of Congo, both of which rank in the bottom five globally, face similar issues. Over the past year, with political tensions high, Kenyan police force have been alleged of indulging in extrajudicial killings in Africa. Police forces in DR Congo have been tasked with containing and stamping down several riots which have broken out across the country in response to president Joseph Kabila’s decision to remain in office.
Kenya and DR Congo have 99 and 100 police officers per 100,000 citizens respectively. Uganda is marginally better with 110 police officers per 100,000. Last year, a government survey found that Ugandans believe the police force is the country’s most corrupt government's institution.
Corruption is a key issue for Nigeria’s police force as well as shown by the report: 81% of respondents admitted to paying a bribe to a cop in the past year and police officers were found likely to “to use their public positions for private gain.” Public trust in the police is dire as less than 1% of thefts were reported to police officers, the report says.
For its part, Nigeria’s police force has rejected the report as “unempirical and absolute falsehood” which “should be disregarded and discountenanced.” Earlier this year a Nigerian government survey also showed police officers were the most likely of all civil servants to solicit and engage in bribery. The police said the report was “totally misleading in all entirety“.
